This rod was designed to handle very large western trout in treacherous waters. A medium fast 5wt. rod that has the backbone to handle those beautiful cutthroats with the gentle tippet saving characteristic that is known only to bamboo fly rods. 8' Abe's Run
This rod was designed for a braid in one of the most beautiful tailwaters of the west. Awe inspiring fish so healthy and powerful a 6wt. is appreciated. The braid reminded me of our freestoners here in PA and was being neglected by the fisherman who'd walk by its mouth, give it a glance, and move on. Micro nymphs produced incredibly well that day so the sensitivity only equalled by quality bamboo rods was required to detect takes...that and incredibly huge trout making a lung or opening their mammoth mouths.
